Let each of us refine our character to become more God-centered and less self, ego-centered in order to bring our Creator back to the public stage of our earthly world. MissionThe Hebrew Prophets spoke about a glorious Messianic period when peace and not war would rule the world. The Third Temple is an integral part of this era, as there can be no Messianic era without a Third Temple. Although no one has a crystal ball, except G-d, to say who will be around during the Messianic Age, the world is a secular place and most people are not aware that through Resurrection, which is also described in the Hebrew Bible, they might be a part of the return of the Divine Presence. That is, even if you die before the predestined time of the building of the Third Temple, you may return if it be God’s Will. Those living on earth when the Temple is actually built also have the opportunity to participate in the Third Temple, again if it be God’s Will. Against this background of uncertainty and no guarantees, the Shechinah Third Temple, Inc. is asking for your financial support to help us educate and make peoples of the world aware of the Third Temple and its history. The Scriptures indicate that we cannot build the Third Temple just yet but we can begin to plan for it. We ask that you give from your heart of your own free will because you believe in the Third Temple. We hope also that our cause will inspire you. The long term goal of the Shechinah Third Temple Corporation is the building of the Third Temple in the State of Israel. However, because the Hebrew Bible may set out certain spiritual requirements to be fulfilled prior to the building of the Temple, the Shechinah Third Temple, Inc. can only raise funds at this time for the planning of God’s future house and for educational purposes to promote understanding and peace among the nations of the world. Land and Building of the Third TempleIt is hoped that the destined land for the building of the Third Temple shall be gifted from the Government of Israel because of the historical significance of the Temple to the Jewish People. However, if this is not the case, the Corporation will be fully prepared to purchase this land using monies generated from its fundraising activities. It is not anticipated that the purchase of the land shall be finalized until the bulk of the costs for building the future Third Temple have been obtained through our fundraising efforts. In actuality, we can’t purchase or designate the Temple location because the geographical (not the spiritual) location of the holy site of the Third Temple in our belief is not yet known. At present, it is difficult to estimate the costs of building a magnificent physical structure for the Jewish people, the world at large, and God. However, funds shall be allocated for architectural design, for construction of the physical structure, maintenance of the Temple, and beautification of the Temple Mount on which the Temple will be built. Costs will also encompass funds for personnel and resource materials to carry out the spiritual and educational functions of the Temple. Under the guidance of its Board of Directors, the Shechinah Third Temple, Inc. shall establish a building fund for the all inclusive development of the Shechinah Third Temple. EducationIn preparation for the arrival of Messianic times during which completion of the Third Temple will take place, the Shechinah Third Temple, Inc. plans to initiate a comprehensive program to educate Jews with respect to the historical, cultural, and spiritual background of the proposed formation of the Third Temple. Religious and scholarly experts will be asked to prepare videos, tapes, CDs, pamphlets, brochures, flyers, etc. of educational materials which will be distributed either free or at nominal charge to libraries, to all levels of public and private learning institutions, and to the general public via the Internet, radio and television. Also, symposia and lecture series programs will be initiated in schools, religious centers and in the private sector throughout the United States first and then in other countries. An introductory two day symposium with religious and biblical scholars will be convened in Manhattan with the purpose of initiating a dialogue of future directions to educate and make the Jewish and world population aware of the significance of the Creator’s Third Temple. This symposium will become an annual event. It is anticipated that the educational component shall begin modestly and shall gradually increase as more monies become available through fundraising activities of the Corporation. Monies for educational purposes will also be generated publicly through the charitable generosity of philanthropists and philanthropic foundations and through grants from government and industrial sources. Travel to Visit the Third TempleIn order to validate the charitable nature of the Shechinah Third Temple as a place for all people, the Corporation shall appropriate funds to provide opportunities to persons of all faiths to visit the Third Temple and come closer to God. Travel grants will be initiated at the time of the construction of the Third Temple. Although Jews and non-Jews of all ages will have the opportunity to apply for travel grants, an effort will be made to interest Jewish youths to visit the Temple and learn about their spiritual, cultural, and historical origins. Interested individuals of all faiths would apply to a selection committee and be required to write a personal essay of no more than one type-written page spelling out his or her desire to visit the Third Temple. Awards will be granted based upon both academic merit and financial need. Travel grants will cover roundtrip airfare plus three nights lodging and meals at an estimated cost in today’s dollars of $2,000 per award. The number of grants awarded will depend upon the profits the Corporation realizes from investments of our fundraising activities. We anticipate that the number of travel grants will increase proportionately with the growth in our fundraising efforts. In order to minimize abuse, successful applicants will be asked to sign a legal binding contract to insure that they will meet their obligations during their travel to the Shechinah Third Temple. Families of either the Officers of the Corporation or the Board of Directors will not be eligible to apply for travel grants. SpiritualityWhen God created the world, He granted humankind ‘free will.’ God left it up to humans to have faith, love and trust Him and this meant that He could not guarantee such devotion even for Himself. He wisely remained hidden to the disinterested party in order to guarantee choice in our world and to leave open the possibility of our acquiring faith. He set out Ten Commandments for us to follow in order to incorporate the spiritual into our material aspirations for the ‘good life.’ We were supposed to exercise our free will wisely so that following the Commandments was not in fact a choice. These seemingly simple Godly statements, given in spectacular fashion more than 3300 years ago to Moses at Mount Sinai, have turned out to be most difficult for us to obey and we all have broken them in one way or another at one time or another. From Malachi 3:7, “Ever since the days of your fathers, you’ve [the Jewish people] turned away from My statutes and haven’t observed them. Return to Me and I will return to you says the God of Hosts.” God realized that we are imperfect and He remained patient with us by giving us an entire lifetime to find our spirituality and to find Him. In king Solomon’s writings from Proverbs 8, it is written, “I love those who love Me, and those who search for Me shall find Me. For one who finds Me has found life.” After you read and digest the information on this website and hopefully make your contribution, whatever you can afford, the Shechinah Third Temple, Inc. encourages you to consider incorporating spirituality into your life if you haven’t already done so. Performing kind deeds, being merciful and truthful and standing up for what’s right and just is all part of walking in God’s Image. We hope that you won’t be sorry once you’ve begun your journey. Your acquiring spirituality may be gradual; however, the rewards you will receive are immeasurable. As a biblical commentator points out, “God offers his fragrance to all, but His wine is reserved for those who are righteous and wish to be guided by Him.” Free will does have its accountability and what we do on this earth during our lives is constantly being monitored by our Creator. The Third Temple is destined to happen sometime in the future and we wish for you to be a part of this miraculous Messianic Age to come. Have no doubts and have faith. All that is prophesied shall happen if it be God’s Will. |
